Dutch Barge

This 23mtr 1920s Dutch barge has just arrived for a total interior re-fit including new generator, holding tanks, galley and cabin fit out.

first job was to remove the floor to gain access for installation of new water tanks

what we found was lots of old baulks of timber riddled with woodworm. the white dust in the picture is the result of years of worm activity.

The sub floor was no better, so the whole lot had to come out right back to the hull.

New sub floor went in single layer of 3/4 marine ply treated and sealed before being fitted to new treated bearers.

4 new water tanks and 2 black water tanks were fitted in below decks

The forward cabins both port and starboard were totally refitted with treated T&G and the portside cabin had a king size double bed made with vast amount of storage below.

Both cabins are fitted with sliding door lockers for storage.

The barge being named Friendship had the forward bulkhead tiled accordingly

Shower facilities and a sunken bath were the order of the day also

Corner sink, heated towel rail, mirrors and completely tiled out bathroom

New laminate flooring which was laid on to the sub floor which consisted of two layers of 18mm marine ply overlapping each other. The stand alone diesel heater and radiators all set up for some comfortable living.
