with the boat cleared of anything that can come off we start removing the wooden splines between the planking. These over the years have become loose and in places very hard putty or filler has been put in its place.

An attempt had been made in the past to replace some damaged planks, not the most ideal lengths of planking so they have come out also.

The deck was covered with "Track-mark" which had totally failed and came off in large sheets revealing the original wooden deck below which appears to be sound.

with so many damaged or broken timbers on the port side the covering board and toe rail will have to be removed to replace these timbers correctly.

In the aft locker there are plenty of broken timbers to be replaced, not sure what has happened in the past with the boat as the port side has many doubled up timbers. We will replace those damaged or cracked before replacing the deck and planking.

port side reveals a good beam shelf but a damaged shear strake, and also when removing the stem head plate more damage was revealed.

Transom is not to great either, repair or replace that is the question.
