Zela
A 106 year old Danish 65' oak fishing boat originally built as a longliner with wet hold. She has undergone a major hull re planking along with many frames and all deck beams and deck replaced. The deck has been completely relaid with pitch pine 2" thick along with the deck beams which are also pitch pine.
The original engine has been totally rebuilt on the owners instructions and is awaiting installation, the owner of the vessel has unfortunately reached the point where he can no longer continue with the rebuilding of this vessel and is looking for someone to take her further. There is lots of work still to be done and would not be for the faint hearted but would make a great boat when completed.
The sails are here along with the running rigging, masts and spars standing rigging needs replacing .
The owner is open to offers but would like her to go to a good home where she would be finished off.
Zela for many years was moored up at Snape Maltings and has been the subject of many photographs and paintings.
